Clinton County Illinois Cemeteries
Known cemeteries are included here. We know there are more family graveyards within the county. If you know of one, please read the stones and send us the info. If you can’t read them, send the location and tell the appropriate coordinator what you do know of the cemetery and/or names of people buried there.
We have assigned Township Coordinators for 14 of the 15 Townships. They might be able to assist you in questions about the Township. They are not responsible for reading all of the tombstones within the Township. Volunteers are really important to get the whole county documented. Weather is destroying some of the stones, vandals are destroying some, lawn mowers are destroying some and some thoughtless descendants are taking souvenirs. Stones that were here 5 years ago have completely vanished. We must record this information to preserve it. We need someone who lives closer than we do to the Carlyle cemeteries to volunteer to be coordinator for that Township.
If you know of someone that is buried in any of these cemeteries without any headstone, send the information to Dorothy and we’ll add it to the listing.
