We have taken several steps to fight spam (junk email) and are continuing to take even more, but be aware, there is nothing we can do to stop it completely.

  1. We are using coding by Dirk Paehl and an IP address lookup service by Project Honeypot to block web robots that scan for email addresses and do other nasty things such as trying to break passwords and leave comment spam.
  2. We have installed 'Honey pots'. A Honey pot is one or more web pages designed to attract and trap the web robots. See our Tools page for links and more information. If you see this image on a page Honey Please do not click it. It links to our honeypot.
  3. We totally block access to http://clinton.ilgenweb.net from IP addresses that have mis-behaved. The table below is a list of blocked IPs and the reason they were blocked. If you are aware of any address in this table that should NOT be blocked, please Contact Us.
  4. Our Guestbook automatically 'Munges' your email address so it cannot be copied directly. When we add new email addresses, we munge them by using a java script function to display the address. This helps block some spammers but is not perfect. (Munging means to encode email addresses to make it more difficult for them to be harvested.)
