Louis M. Biggs, 61

Louis M. Biggs, 61, of Anna and formerly of Collinsville, died Thursday, June 24th, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

He was born March 5th, 1943, in East St. Louis, the son of Louis Steven and Dorothy Jeniece Smith Biggs Rushing, and they preceded him in death. On Oct. 28th, 1972, he married Kathleen M. Peters, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steve M. Biggs of Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Todd A. Biggs of Rockwall, Texas; a stepdaughter, Jennifer L. Roth of Collinsville; three grandchildren;  two sisters, Mary J. Bullard and Betty J. Riddle of Troy; two brothers, Donald L. Biggs of Anna and Timothy R. Biggs of Highland.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Biggs.

He was a member of the Army Reserves. He was retired carpenter for Phillips Construction in O’Fallon and an avid hunter. His dream of retiring near his favorite hunting ground east of Anna was realized last year with his retirement of his wife and their move to his Anna farm.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 28th; at 10 a.m. at Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home in Collinsville, with Rev. Dale Clemens officiating.

A graveside service was held at the Wiggs Cemetery east of Anna, with Pastor Robert Klein officiating.

Lutz& Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna handled the arrangements.
