Johanna K. Beer, 92

Johanna K. Beer, 92, of Germantown died Saturday, Oct. 16th, 2004, at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese.

She was born Aug. 22nd, 1912, in Germantown, the daughter of Henry and Catherine Bohnenkemper Lueking, and they preceded her in death. On April 28th, 1937, at St. Libory, she married Alois Beer, and he preceded her in death Feb. 16th, 2000.

Surviving is a daughter, Bernette Toennies of Germantown; four sons, Donald and Lester Beer, both of Breese; Stanley Beer of Germantown and Glennon Beer of Springfield; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Lueking of St. Libory; and a sister, Josephine Averbeck of St.Libory.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Joseph, Bernard, George, Alphonse, Ferdinand and Lawrence Lueking, and three sisters, Mary Mueller, Veronica Pruett and Alvina Weyerick.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Sodality, Germantown Senior Citizens and Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 19th, at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Humphrey officiating.

Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.

Daughters of Isabella prayed the rosary at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
