Lester Atchison, 73
Lester Atchison, 73, of Hoffman died Thursday, Feb. 5th, 2004, at his home.
He was born on May 16th, 1930, in Centralia, the son of Trellie and Helen Tuel Atchison, and they preceded him in death. On Feb. 19th, 1955, in Hoffman, he married Doris Bassen, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Brian Atchison of Hoffman; two daughters, Debra Ohms of Hoyleton and Sandra McClaren of Hoffman; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Atchison of Plainfield, Ind., and Roland Atchison of Florida, and a sister, Carolyn Sue Causey of Centralia.
Mr. Atchison retired after 31 years as a repairman at Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America. He lived all of his life in the Hoffman-Centralia area. He was an AD-2 petty in the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Navy from August 23rd, 1950, until June 10th, 1954.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Feb. 9th, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating.
Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery.
Visitation was at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia.
